Moisture content predictions for eight seasoned timbers under sheltered outdoor conditions in Australian and New Guinea

[摘要] Predicted monthly and annual mean wood moisture contents under sheltered outdoor conditions are tabulated for 108 localities in Australia and New Guinea. The predictions are calculated from regression equations based on measurements of moisture content, temperature, and relative humidity taken over 3 years at 10 widely dispersed sites. A total of 528 specimens, made up of eight species, three thicknesses, and three replications, was exposed. Monthly means of observed moisture contents for specimens of one thickness are also included.Data based on measurements taken at 12 indoor positions showed moisture contents from 1-4 % lower than sheltered outdoor values.
