Actual Evapotranspiration Datasets for Inter-Comparison and Evaluation
[摘要] Actual evapotranspiration (AET) is one of the key foundation data sets being evaluated by the CSIRO for the Bureau of Meteorology as part of the WIRADA program.Sample gridded data sets of actual ET were solicited from algorithm developers with the aim of undertaking an inter-comparison and evaluation. The criteria specified to guide data production were set as follows:1.Time range: 2000/02 – 2005/12 (minimum)2.Update frequency: Monthly (or better)3.Spatial extent: Australian continent, including Tasmania4.Spatial resolution: 0.05 degrees or better (grid step size of 5 km or less)The rationale underlying these criteria are described.Products derived using eight distinct methods were provided. For some products several variants were included leading to a total of 16 data sets. All but one of the contributed data sets either met or exceeded the above criteria; the sole exception being the ET-Look dataset which covered a reduced time range (3 years) due to input data availability. This report contains a description of each of the eight product data sets, including:•Method;•Input data requirements;•Any variants; and•References to published descriptions.Appendices describe the formatting and representation of the data for use within the inter-comparison and evaluation framework. The analysis and comparison of the data sets is described in a separate report.
