Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Oil Spill Response Workshop Final Report

[摘要] Australia hosted an Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Oil Spill Response Workshop in Perth, Western Australia from 26-30 April 2015.The purpose of this workshop was to; identify the gaps in oil spill response capability and capacity in the Indian Ocean Region; the levels of scientific knowledge and research required to ensure regional oil spill response operations will protect our marine habitat and its living resources.The workshop was chaired by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia’s leading research organisation.It was attended by delegates with positions in government and academia from thirteen member states with roles in environmental regulation, maritime response and research.The workshop focussed on establishing the collaborative networks that will be necessary to fill these gaps and respond to an oil spill or other maritime emergency.The discussions and presentations led to a series of recommendations that were presented to IORA.
