Characterization of the traditional fisheries in the Treaty communities of Torres Strait (Papua New Guinea)

[摘要] Several methodologies were used to collect data and information required to characterise the socio-ecological system of the traditional fisheries of the Papua New Guinean (PNG) Treaty villages. For the ecological characterization of the fisheries, creel, market, buyer and key informants surveys were conducted in the selected Treaty villages and Daru. For the socio-economic characterization of the fisheries, household and key informant surveys plus focus groups were conducted. Daru, Bula and Sigabaduru were chosen as case studies.
