Evaluating rotational harvest strategies for sea cucumber fisheries: An MSE of the Qld East Coast Sea Cucumber Fishery

[摘要] This project provides an assessment of the sustainability of the ECBDMF, and the efficacy of the current Rotational Zone System (RZS) harvest strategy utilised in the fishery.It found that, in general, the current management arrangement result in a low risk to most fishery species, and reduce localised depletion. However, there are still some risks to some species, and important information gaps that could provide more certainty. This information is critical to the continued sustainable use of this resource on the GBR, and will provide guidance to management (Queensland Fisheries and the GBRMPA) and industry to design and apply sustainable management practices, promote the research into critical data needs, and provide some reassurance to governments and the general public that the fishery can be managed sustainably in the long term.
