SGFM: Stratigraphic and Geomorphic Forward Modelling Framework:Current status and future developments
[摘要] CSIRO is developing an innovative parallel forward numerical framework (the SGFM framework) which couples a 3D dynamic geomorphic and stratigraphic code (lecode) to a 3D wave dynamic model (swan), and to a 3D tectonic code (underworld).First, this report gives a general overview on the newest developments of lecode numerical model. The report details the physical assumptions and the governing equations used to simulate the various processes related to surface evolution. The implementation is then described, providing information on spatial discretisation techniques and parallelisation methodologies. The decoupled approach used to numerically solve the proposed equations is explained and summarised. Then a description of the current status of the SGFM framework is presented. It highlights the coupling strategies already in place as well as the directions that will be investigated to provide a fully coupled modelling framework capable of investigating long-term Earth dynamics problems.Follow, some general informations regarding the end-users facilities that have been already developped as well as some descriptions of the inputs and visualisation techniques proposed to initialise, run and visualise SGFM framework simulations. Finally an overview of the past, current and future benchmarks is proposed. Overall, it illustrates the general capabilities of lecode model as well as the future strategy to test and validate the SGFM framework.
