Recommendations on the use of Terrestrial Laser Scanning and 3D Photogrammetry for mine highwall stability analysis
[摘要] Recommendations on the use of Terrestrial Laser Scanning and 3D Photogrammetry for mine highwall stability analysis | 11 AbstractThe use of remote mapping technologies for the analysis of geotechnical parameters in open cut coal mines has been increasing in recent years. As a result, traditional surveying procedures are being modified to satisfy the extra requirements imposed by such analyses. This report provides an overview of surveying technologies available to the industry. Several commercial examples are also discussed. A review of the technical challenges associated with structural mapping of coal mine highwalls is also presented. An analysis has been performed of typical procedures currently used at open cut coal mines for the acquisition of structural data for use in geotechnical analysis of highwall stability. Photogrammetric and laser data from various coal mine highwall surveys conducted at several sites is analysed within this context.Analysis of the suitability of various scanning procedures is performed for typical coal mine highwall geometries and structural orientations. Recommendations and guidelines on the use of these remote sensing techniques for the analysis of rock mass structures are made.
