Innovation in urban development: A national survey of industry views and experiences

[摘要] This summary report of the national survey conducted as part of the broader Urban Edge Partnership (UEP) research program, a joint initiative between CSIRO and Sydney based developer Celestino. Overall, the aim of the project is to investigate the role of greenfield development in shifting our towns and cities towards a more liveable, sustainable and resilient future. Specifically, what local conditions, and planning and development strategies can support innovation in greenfield development. Overall research has included interviews with key stakeholders, innovation workshops and a national survey of property industry views and experiences on implementing innovation in urban form, infrastructure and service provision. Here the results from the national survey are detailed. The survey sets out to capture the views and experiences of the property development sector on implementing innovation in urban design, building construction and essential infrastructure. Specifically, innovation is defined as the features of development that are above and beyond industry guidelines and regulations, as well as features that are unique within the Australian property market.
