REGIONAL CLIMATE VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT: PILBARA. Preliminary overview for CSIRO workshop. The Leeuwin Centre, Floreat Park, WA, July 21st, 2011
[摘要] Future climate variability and change is expected to impact on the mining industry and its communities in multiple and diverse ways across Australia. The Pilbara region is the most significant resources sector region in Western Australia (CME, 2010), and as such an understanding of the implications of climate change for its mining operations and communities is important. The adaptation responses of mining companies and communities will have knock on effects for one another, highlighting the need to bring together industry, government and mining community stakeholders in the region to respond effectively to the challenges. This report has been developed as a preliminary overview of the region and of climate projections and adaptation information relevant to it. The report is designed to inform a workshop being held by the CSIRO in Perth on July 21st 2011. The workshop brings together a range of stakeholder groups to investigate mining climate adaptation within the region.
