Geofabric identity delegation - WIRADAII Geofabric Deliverable 2.7 Additional Report

[摘要] The majority of work for this deliverable is contained within an Enterprise Architect1 (EA) package containing a model of the Geofabric[1] systems. Its primary concerns, for this deliverable, are a series of component diagrams detailing the past, present and future installation states of Geofabric data and services and an independent set of component diagrams detailing the current and future deployment of Persistent ID Services (PID Services) at two locations. These are the National Computing Infrastructure (NCI) on behalf of the Australian Linked Data Working Group for use by the data.gov.au namespace and at the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) for use with the pid.bom.gov.au namespace. An overview of the future PID Service component diagram from the EA Package is given in Section 2 as it details the systems required for long-term identity management.This document’s unique content is in Section 3. It contains information about identity delegation for Geofabric data and services. It is not possible to details identity delegation within a component diagram as the entities needing identity exists as parts within and around deployed components (data items and collections for instance) thus this additional report takes the form of concept diagrams.This report’s concept diagrams indicate which identity provision systems should manage identity for things that require institutional and things that require institutionally-independent identification. A range of types of things are given and their identity delegation shown. An attempt has been made to describe as many of the items within the realm of the Geofabric product suite and additional services as possible.Currently, only the Federal Government’s data.gov.au namespace and the Bureau’s own pid.bom.gov.au namespaces are equipped to handle identity for complex Linked Data product such as the Geofabric. In the future there may be additional systems able to provide this type of service. It may be expected that Geosciences Australia may host such a service and therefore some items of interest to the Geofabric may have their identity managed there.
