This publication will assist decision makers in countries using nuclear energy for non-power applications to organize their waste management practices. It describes methodologies, criteria and options for the selection of appropriate technologies for
processing and storing radioactive waste generated by these applications. A review of both technical and non-technical factors important for decision making and planning, and for implementation of waste management activities at the country and facility levels are presented. Practical recommendations for the selection of particular technologies for different scales of waste generation are made.
