The singular locus of a Schubert variety

[摘要] The singular locus of a Schubert variety X-mu in the flag variety for GL(n) (C) is the union of Schubert varieties X-nu, where nu runs over a set Sg(mu) of permutations in S-n. We describe completely the maximal elements of Sg(mu) under the Bruhat order, thus determining the irreducible components of the singular locus of X-mu. (C) 2003 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
