NORMAL-SUBGROUPS OF CLASSICAL-GROUPS OVER VON-NEUMANN REGULAR-RINGS

[摘要] Let R be a von Neumann regular ring. We obtain a complete description of all subgroups of the pseudo-orthogonal groups O-2n R for n greater than or equal to 3 which are normalized by elementary orthogonal matrices. We also prove the normality of EO(2n)(R, J) in O-2n R when R is an abelian von Neumann regular ring and n greater than or equal to 1. (C) 1994 academic Press, Inc.
