Irreducible finitary Lie algebras over fields of characteristic zero

[摘要] A Lie subalgebra L of gl(K)(V) is said to be finitary if it consists of elements of finite rank. We show that if Char K = 0, if dim(K) V is infinite, and if L acts irreducibly on V, then the derived algebra of L is simple. (C) 1998 Academic Press.
