A computer-free construction of the third group of Janko

[摘要] We give a new constructive computer-free existence proof of the third group of Janko, J(3), using the 9-dimensional unitary representation of 3J(3) over GF(4). Thereby we embed the C-2.c-geometries for 3J(3) and J(3) into the 9-dimensional unitary space and the 9-dimensional projective space, respectively. (C) 1997 Academic Press.
