Wavelet-type decompositions and approximations from shift-invariant spaces

[摘要] We investigate sufficient conditions on principal shift-invariant spaces S(phi) in order to provide prescribed approximation orders in L(p)(R(d)), 1 < p < infinity. Our results are applicable even in pathological cases where <(phi)over cap>(0)=0 and are based on the wavelet-type decompositions of Besov spaces. (C) 1997 Academic Press.
