DIAGNOSIS OF INSECT HYPERSENSITIVITY

[摘要] This article discusses current problems in the diagnosis of human hypersensitivity to the Hymenoptera. A current problem is the use of Hymenoptera body extract for skin testing when Hymenoptera venom should also be used. Since the basophilic histamine release assay and the radioallergosorbent test are not within the scope of the average clinician, the skin test remains the diagnostic method of choice. The antigenic cross-reactivity of honeybees, vespids and Polistes is discussed.
