Nonnegative solutions of quasilinear elliptic problems with nonnegative coefficients

[摘要] The existence of nonnegative nontrivial solutions to the problem y'' + N - 1/x y' + lambda q(x)f(y) = 0 y'(0) = y(1) = 0 is discussed when the function q(x) is allowed to be zero on a set of positive measure and f:[0, infinity) --> [0, infinity) is continuous, strictly increasing, and allowing for the case f(0) = 0. A description of the set of lambda's for which there is a solution is obtained based on the properties of f. (C) 1997 Academic Press.
