LEGENDRE TRANSFORMS AND DUAL VARIETIES

[摘要] The notion of the flatness degree of a projective variety S is defined. It is proved that the codimension of the dual variety S* equals the flatness degree of S plus one. To do this, the generalized Legendre transform of a function f introduced earlier is studied, in particular its involutivity is proved. (C) 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
