On the composition of homogeneous quasi-arithmetic means

[摘要] Let phi, psi, gamma, beta:(0,infinity) --> R, strictly monotonic and continuous functions, be the generators of the positively homogeneous quasi-arithmetic means M-phi, M-psi, M-gamma, and M-beta. The main result gives full characterizations of the functions phi, psi, gamma, and beta such that M-phi(M-psi(x, y), M-gamma(x, y)) = M-beta (x, y), x,y > 0. (C) 1997 Academic Press.
