THE PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF CHLOROQUINE AGAINST ULTRAVIOLET-INDUCED BIOCHEMICAL CHANGES
[摘要] Oral administration of chloroquine inhibits certain biochemical changes that normally follow ultraviolet irradiation in animal serum and epidermis. In both serum and epidermis, the drug partially prevented sulfhydryl and polarographic filtrate wave height alterations. Chloroquine increased post-irradiation disulfide values in serum but did not alter these values in epidermis. With sulfhydryl the post-irradiation changes protected by chloroquine occurred in the nonprotein-bound sulfhydryl fraction. The drug yielded no statistically significant effect on protein-bound SH.
