ELECTRON MICROSCOPY OF MELANOCYTES AND MELANOSOMES IN FRECKLED HUMAN EPIDERMIS

[摘要] Melanosomes produced by the melanocytes of freckles differ in size, shape, and degree of melanization from those found in melanocytes of adjacent paler epidermis. This supports a previous suggestion that there is a qualitative difference between these 2 cells. The possibility that this may arise through a somatic mutation is considered.
