THERAPEUTIC ASSAYS OF THE NEW YORK SKIN AND CANCER UNIT, POST GRADUATE MEDICAL SCHOOL, NEW-YORK-UNIVERSITY - BELLEVUE MEDICAL CENTER - ASSAY-II - CALCIFEROL (D2)
[摘要] The therapeutic effectiveness of calciferol (vitamin D2) for various tuberculoderms, sarcoidoses, granuloma annulare, psoriasis and lichen planus was studied over a 2 yr. period in 77 cases. 100,000-150,000 U. of crystalline D2 (Drisdol) in alcohol or vitamin D2 in oil, 50,000 U. per capsule (Davitin, Ives Cameron Inc.) were admd. 75% (8/12) of the cases of lupus vulgaris either healed or were greatly improved. Two cases of tuberculosis colliquativa healed almost completely. There was no uniformity in the results in the 5 cases of lupus milaris disseminatus faciei and the results in sarcoidosis (7 cases) were uniformly poor. D2 therapy proved to be detrimental in granuloma annulare, and 2 out of 3 cases of erythema induratum (Bazin''s disease) grew progressively worse while under treatment. The results were equivocal in psoriasis and lichen planus. The incidence of subjective symptoms of toxicity was 14% of renal irritation 11%, and hypercalcemia 60%. In the majority of cases, the symptoms of intolerance appeared to be unrelated to the hypercalcemia.
