THE BACTERIAL FLORA OF THE SKIN OF AMPUTATION STUMPS

[摘要] In 10 lower-extremity amputees, the bacterial flora of the skin of the stump was compared with the flora of the skin of the opposite, normal limb. All subjects wore prostheses and adhered to a satisfactory routine of stump hygiene. The stump skin harbored a bacterial flora considerably more abundant than thai of the skin of the contralateral leg.
