STUDIES ON THE THERAPEUTIC EFFECT OF TRYPSIN

[摘要] 36 patients with various types of leg ulcers, gangrene and burns were treated with crystalline trypsin (Trypure Novo). Rapid removal of the necrotic tissue of the ulcers occurred. The amt. of trypsin in each application varied from 25 to 50 mg. Lesions with particularly insufficient vascularization (arteriosclerotic ulcers, gangrene) should be treated with smaller doses and less frequently. Trypsin applications should be repeated at intervals of 2 hrs. Trypsin may be applied throughout the 24 hrs. or for 4 to 6 hrs. daily. In instances with insufficient vascularization it is advisable to apply trypsin at intervals of 1 to 3 days. Trypsin treatment was particularly effective on varicose ulcers and diabetic gangrene and must be regarded as a valuable supplement to dermatologic therapy.
