IDENTIFICATION OF CONTACT ALLERGENS BY HUMAN ASSAY .3. MAXIMIZATION TEST - A PROCEDURE FOR SCREENING AND RATING CONTACT SENSITIZERS

[摘要] Substances are classified according to their allergenic capabilities after 5 48 hr. exposures of high concentrations to inflamed skin. The maximization ratings of many diverse substances, including cosmetics, drugs, industrial contactants, etc. have been presented. Uses of the test include: judgement of the contact sensitizing hazard of new chemicals; discrimination between primary allergens and cross-reacting ''elicitors,'' a model for evaluating the potentiality of orally or parenterally administered agents to cause allergic drug reactions.
