RECOVERY OF DERMATOPHYTES FROM SHOES AND SHOWER STALLS
[摘要] Through use of a selective isolation medium containing cycloheximide (Acti-dione), penicillin and streptomycin it was possible to isolate the dermatophytes, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, T. rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum from used shoes and a shower stall. It is pointed out that the control of tinea pedis would necessitate the simultaneous treatment of infected individuals and contaminated areas of the environment such as shoes and flooring.
