THE EFFECT OF INTRAVENOUS FAT ON SERUM LIPIDS

[摘要] The physiological disposition of infused neutral fats was studied by free electrophoresis and by quantitative lipid analyses in normal adults and in patients with idiopathic hyperlipemia. In 1 experiment on hyper-lipemic patients a marked lipid lowering effect of the fat infusion was demonstrated. This phenomenon, which could not be repeated on the same patient a year later, is apparently related to the release of fatty acids from lipoproteins migrating in the a-globulin region. Several possibilities are offered to explain the differences in results obtained on the 2 experiments.
