STUDIES IN HYPERSENSITIVITY TO LIGHT .1. PRELIMINARY REPORT

[摘要] A patient who was extremely intolerant to sunlight and reacted with heavy urticaria and itching was submitted to several tests. The upper limit of the patient''s urticarial sensitivity lies somewhere between 3900 and 3300 A units, and the lower limit is below 2500 A units. The patient''s blood serum passively sensitized non-sensitive patients. The antibody is thermolabile. There were no known photodynamic, photosensitizing chemicals demonstrable in the patient''s serum, but a slight rise in the blood histamine level after exposure to light.
