HORMONAL EFFECTS ON SEBACEOUS GLANDS IN THE WHITE RAT .2. THE EFFECT OF THE PITUITARY-ADRENAL AXIS

[摘要] In ovari-ectomized mature white rats removal of the pituitary-adrenal axis leads to sebaceous gland atrophy which cannot be counteracted by progesterone. Adrenalectbmy alone leads to sebaceous gland atrophy which can be partially overcome with progesterone, and sebaceous gland stimulating effects of testosterone are reduced by the above operations.
