EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES ON DRUG RESISTANCE OF DERMATOPHYTES .1. THE DEVELOPMENT OF DRUG RESISTANCE OF TRICHOPHYTON MENTAGROPHYTES AND MICROSPORUM LANOSUM TO UNDECYLENIC ACID AND 2-DIMETHYLAMINO-6-(BETA-DI-ETHYLAMINOETHOXY) BENZOTHIAZOLE DIHYDROCHLORIDE (ASTEROL)
[摘要] Development of resistance to undecylenic acid and 2-dimethyl-amino-6-(beta-diethylaminoethoxy)benzothiazole dihydrochloride (Asterol) could be accomplished in vitro with both T. mentagrophytes and M. lanosum. Degree of resistance was of a relatively low order, 4-fold with undecylenic acid and 16 to 30-fold with Asterol. These experiments are in no way suggestive that therapeutic failure in the treatment of dermatophytes is due to drug resistance of the fungi, an observation which has apparently not been made clinically.
