A NEW ANTIFUNGAL ANTIBIOTIC, MYCOSTATIN (NYSTATIN), FOR THE TREATMENT OF MONILIASIS - A PRELIMINARY REPORT

[摘要] A preliminary report of the results of treatment of 8 cases of monoliasis of the skin and mucous membranes with a new antifungal antibiotic, mycostatin (Nystatin) is presented. Six patients apparently cleared completely, and 2 required continued therapy to remain free of signs and symptoms. The prompt favorable clinical response, confirmed by laboratory studies, in these resistant cases warrants the further use and study of this agent.
