A COMPARISON OF THE DIRECT ACTION OF ESTROGEN AND ADRENAL CORTICAL EXTRACTS ON GROWTH OF HAIR IN THE RAT
[摘要] Adrenal cortical extract (containing the equivalent of 1 mg. of cortisone per ml.) applied to the skin of rats prevents any hair growth in the treated area for at least 12 weeks. Adrenalectomy does not alter this effect. 5 [mu]g. or more of alpha-estradiol has the same effect which is, however, eliminated by adrenalectomy. Discussion of the differences in the modes of action of these steroid hormones.
