Utility and Limitations of Large Population-Based Data for Skin Cancer Outcomes
[摘要] Large population-based studies are useful for determining cancer outcomes, but interpreting their findings requires understanding their limitations. Youlden et al. highlight the utility of using a large dataset for studying melanoma survival, whereas Gimotty et al. point out the limitations of such datasets in miscoding thickness, a key prognostic variable. Awareness of limitations of population-based registry data can help to inform their interpretations and clinical implications.
