THE CHEMISTRY OF THE HUMAN SEBACEOUS GLAND .1. HISTOCHEMICAL OBSERVATIONS
[摘要] Histological studies on the pattern in the lipid formation (by the use of general fat stains) showed distinct differences in the activity of various gland cells. Especially active are the centrally located cells. Histochemical studies showed presence of cholesteryl esters but not of free cholesterol in the sebaceous cells. No alkaline phosphatase was observed. Histochemical identification of the lipids as used in this study is an indirect approach requiring corroboration by direct chemical analysis.
