THE RELATIONSHIP OF HOST AND VIRUS IN MOLLUSCUM CONTAGIOSUM
[摘要] In the early stages of infection of human epithelial cells with molluscum contagiosum virus there is an increase of ribose nucleic acid synthesis and of cytoplasmic ribonucleo-protein; simultaneously the nucleolus is enlarged. Later on, islands of desoxyribosenucleic acid protein appear in the cytoplasm with an enormous increase and production of inclusion bodies consisting of masses of virus particles. The brick-shaped virus particles (size 389 x 272 mu), extremely plentiful in the inclusion bodies, are formed by an aggregation of smaller (sub-virus) particles (100 x 83 mu).
