ACUTE IRRADIATION EFFECTS ON THE ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE ACTIVITY OF THE GUINEA PIG SEBACEOUS GLAND

[摘要] Guinea-pigs receiving one dose of irradiation of 800 r (HVL 1.18 mm al.) show a marked decrease in alkaline phosphatase activity in their sebaceous glands. This effect is manifested 48 hours after irradiation, reaches its peak at 96 hours and subsides by 120 hours, and corresponds with morphological changes in the sebaceous glands. Twenty milligrams of prednisolone administered intraperitoneally prior to irradiation appear to decrease the effects.
