TOXICITY STUDIES ON SELENIUM DISULFIDE SUSPENSION

[摘要] The uses of Se in industry and medicine, which are more extensive than generally considered, were reviewed. The toxicity of Se-containing compounds for animals and humans with relation to selenium disulfide suspension as a therapeutic agent for seborrheic dermatitis was discussed. An experiment using tissue culture techniques first on chick spleen, than on human skin, to show that 2.5% selenium disulfide suspension is no more toxic than the vehicle alone was described.
