ERYTHEMA AB IGNE - A HISTOPATHOLOGICAL STUDY

[摘要] Three cases of erythema ab igne were studied with a variety of histologic methods. There is an increase of fibers in the dermis with the morphology in the light microscope, histochemical properties, enzyme susceptibility, fluorescence and retractility characteristic of elastic tissue. The attributes and distribution of these fibers are not unlike the changes in actinic elastosis and raise the question of the importance of infrared energy and other lysosomal labilizers in production of the secondary elastosis. A role of lysosomal enzymes in the production of these changes is postulated.
