URINARY EXCRETION OF 17 KETOSTEROIDS AND 17 HYDROXY-CORTICOSTEROIDS AFTER INUNCTION OF HYDROCORTISONE OINTMENT - ATTEMPTS TO DEMONSTRATE SYSTEMIC ABSORPTION FROM TOPICALLY APPLIED HYDROCORTISONE OINTMENT

[摘要] There was no significant change shown in the urinary 17 ketosteroids and 17 hydroxycorticosteroids, after 10 g of ointment containing 250 mg of hydrocortisone (free alcohol) was rubbed into normal skin areas of human volunteers. Results indicate that either there was no absorption or there was insufficient absorption to alter these urinary steroids.
