COLLOID MILIUM - A HISTOCHEMICAL STUDY
[摘要] Histopathologic, histochemical, fluorescent microscopic and polaroscopic studies strongly suggest that colloid is similar to amyloid. Fluorescent staining of colloid with thioflavine T and birefringence of the hyaline substance under polarized light indicate an organized fibrillar structure. Colloid represents an abnormal scleroprotein synthetized by dermal fibroblasts and is a solid pathologic protein different from collagen and elastin. The fibrillar component of colloid is embedded in a matrix of acid mucopolysaccharides, complex muco-substances, and solidified serum proteins.
