NA22CL SKIN CLEARANCE IN HUMANS AND ITS RELATION TO SKIN AGE
[摘要] Na22 injected intradermally as saline can be detected by an external probe. The rate at which Na22 leaves the injected site appears to vary with the age of the test subject. In young male subjects (21-30 yrs.) the rate of clearance is slower than it is in older people (51-90 yrs.). The differences appear to be inversely proportional to the chronological age of the subjects. However, there are several exceptions to this generality. It was also noted that there were differences in clearance rates among 3 test sites used. The dorsum of the hand was the only site from which the skin clearance rates did not appreciably vary with the age of the subject. On the basis of the experimental data and the information available in the literature, it is concluded that in general, the Na22 skin clearance rate is a reliable index of the vitality of the dermis and connective tissue and as such may be employed as an index of dermal ageing changes.
