THE SURVIVAL OF TISSUES AT ICE-BOX TEMPERATURES
[摘要] Skin, kidney, and liver from adult guinea pigs were kept at icebox temp. (4[degree]C) in Ringer soln. for 1-7 days. Skin respiration remained practically undiminished for 3 days; the liver resp. fell to 1/2 after only 1 day; the kidney resp. survived much better than the liver, but began to decline after the 2d day. The respiratory processes of all tissues were destroyed by freezing.
