STUDIES OF THE ENZYMES OF PURINE METABOLISM IN SKIN .2. NUCLEOSIDE DEAMINASES OF RAT SKIN

[摘要] A method is described for the preparation of extracts of rat skin which exhibit enzyme activity toward various purine substrates. Rat skin contains a relatively active enzyme for the deamination of adenosine. This preparation also shows activity on guanosine. Whether this activity represents guanosine deaminase activity, or riboside hydrolysis, is unanswered. The enzymes responsible for the deamination of adenosine, and possibly, guanosine, represent part of a system existing in rat skin for the catabolism of purine compounds.
