STUDIES ON THE ARGINASE ACTIVITY OF THE SKIN
[摘要] The enzyme arginase, which catalyzes the conversion of arginine into ornithine and urea, was present in normal skin, predominantly in the epidermis. Greatly increased arginase activity is observed in certain skin lesions associated with proliferation of the rete cells such as psoriasis and verrucae vulgares whereas in basal cell proliferations, no increase or arginase activity was found. Admn. of ACTH had no significant effect on arginase activity of the normal skin.
