GROUP SENSITIVITY TO LOCAL ANESTHETICS - CONFIRMATION OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ITS OCCURRENCE AND DEMONSTRATION THAT IT DOES NOT NECESSARILY ALWAYS TAKE PLACE

[摘要] In one of 2 cases of acquired sensitivity to a local anesthetic compound which is a p-aminobenzoic acid ester of a secondary or tertiary amine, the sensitivity (as manifested by patch testing) extended to the entire group of related substances, but the sensitivity did not extend to any other local anesthetic or other similar substance. In the other case, there was no other evidence (clinical or on patch testing) of sensitivity to others of the group, but there was definite evidence of sensitivity on patch testing to another local anesthetic which had much less structural relationship to the sensitizing substance.
