MELANIN PIGMENTATION THROUGHT THE AGES - WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO PIGMENTATION OF PLANARIAS AND WHALES, AND THE HISTOLOGY OF WHALE SKIN
[摘要] The pigmentation of whale skin bears a close resemblance to that of human beings. Tumors produced by excessive proliferation of melanoblasts in certain hybrid Mexican fishes resemble those of human melanoma. The origin of human melanoma has not yet been detd. Zoologists now accept the neural crest origin of melanoblasts in amphibians and birds.
