DISRUPTION OF EPITHELIAL CELLS BY HEAT AND SPECIFIC CHEMICAL AGENTS
[摘要] Specific chemicals which split hydrogen bonds and disulfide linkages cause the breakdown of intercellular bridges and tonofibrils present in epidermal cells. The above chemicals also cause disruption of endothelial linings of intestine, bronchus and trachea with separation of lining cells from the underlying connective tissue and from each other. Such changes are not observed in liver, pancreas, skeletal and heart muscle. Mild thermal burns in humans show acantholysis and perivascular infiltrates beneath the areas of acantholysis.
