LESIONS OF MUCOCUTANEOUS JUNCTIONS IN THE RAT IN DEFICIENCY OF PYRIDOXINE
[摘要] Lesions of the nose, lips, angles of the mouth and less frequently of the eyelids and anogenital region were observed in rats deficient in pyridoxine. Their gross and microscopic features were studied. The changes in the mucocutaneous junctions were similar to the characteristic lesions of the paws. Complete reversal of the changes was observed on admn. of pyridoxine to those rats not autopsied. It is concluded that pyridoxine is essential for the integrity of the mucocutaneous junctions in the rat as may well be the case in man. Involvement of the ears is a late and inconstant feature of deficiency of pyridoxine in the rat.
