THE TESTING OF FUNGICIDES INSOLUBLE IN WATER

[摘要] Fungicidal evaluation of water-insoluble compounds can be detd. when 25% alcohol, 50% acetone, and 80% propylene glycol are used as solvents. The values obtained may be compared with those of water-soluble substances. Propionic acid is most fungi-cidal at pH 5 in a dilution of 1:5; undecylenic acid, at pH 8 in a dilution of 1:80. The cylinder-plate method, resembling that for assaying penicillin, was used.
